Primer post de 2015, ¡por fin!

Tenía pensado contaros cuáles son (y han sido) mis favoritos y decepciones, o mis básicos irreemplazables del año pasado, pero son entradas complejas ya que hay productos que terminé y todavía no he repuesto, así que no puedo añadir en fotos.

Así que voy a hablaros en varios posts (no necesariamente consecutivos) de productos que me han gustado y que se han convertido en básicos para mí.

Uno de esos productos es la BB cream Skin 79 Moisturizing Purple.

I had thought to write about my current favourites, discoveries and letdowns or even my must-haves from last year, but these are tricky posts as I have finished (but not repurchased yet) some of them so I can't put them into pictures.

So, in the forthcoming posts (not necessarily in a row) I am going to tell you about the products I have loved and have become staples in my makeup bag.

One of these products is BB cream Skin 79 Moisturizing Purple.

En general me gusta el concepto de BB creams porque son productos multifunción (ya lo sé, siempre se quedan cortas en algo) que para el caso, ayudan mucho para ir perfecta y protegida del sol a diario sin mucho esfuerzo.

Estas BB Creams están a la venta en la web de la propia firma y en algunas perfumerías. Yo compré la mía en Primor y os cuento la historia. Me recomendaron la morada (Purple) ya que es la indicada para piel seca. Según la firma es de las BB creams más oscuras (tono 23) y es cierto, tiene un color rosado-neutro que encaja con los NW20-25 de MAC pero que se puede adaptar a pieles más oscuras (siempre dentro de un límite).

Para mi sorpresa, esta firma ofrece tamaños de minitalla, a precios competitivos, que te permiten probar el producto. Mi minitalla en concreto duró casi tres semanas largas. Así que por lo que podéis ver, el producto cunde bastante.

Cleansing Oil/ Aceite desmaquillante | Dior

Conocí este producto hace unos meses en Instagram, red social que acapara la mayor parte de mi tiempo online y que, como muchos sabréis, cebrillas mías, es el complemento a este blog.

Fue a través de @carmen_vzg en esta misma red que conocí este desmaquillante en aceite de Dior.

I knew this product a few months ago on Instagram, the social network where I spent most of my online time on. As you may know, my little zebras, IG is the complement of my blog.

Una nueva forma de aplicar la base/ A New Way to Apply Foundation

Soy fiel seguidora de Nikkie Tutorials, la blogger y youtuber holandesa. Me río mucho con sus ocurrencias y tiene una técnica muy depurada, muy limpia a la hora de maquillar. Me relaja verla y aprendo mucho.

I am a fan of Nikkie Tutorials, the Dutch blogger and youtuber. She is hilarious and besides, she has a perfect and clean technique when doing her makeup. I love watching her videos and I learn a lot from her.

En el vídeo de esta semana ha sacado la nueva kabuki de Sigma, la 3D HD. Es como las sintéticas de toda la vida pero con un doble biselado de forma que acaban como en punta. Sin embargo, la sorpresa ha sido cuando ha aplicado la base rociando la brocha previamente con el Spray Facial de Evian, que no es nada más que agua mineral enriquecida, tipo Agua de Avene.

In this week's video she is featuring the new kabuki brush from Sigma, called 3D HD. This is pretty much like its  antecessors but with a double-angled point. Surprisingly, this time she has used the brush spraying it with some Facial Spray from Evian. This is just enriched mineral water, very much like Avene.

My Basics: M·A·C Blush in Harmony and Kryolan Eyeshadow in Romantic

Lo que hoy os enseño son para mí dos productos básicos de tocador. Los tengo desde hace tiempo, casi un año y no me aburro de ellos.

What I show you today are two basics. I bought them some time ago, about a year or so and I don't get tired of them.

El primero es el colorete de Kryolan "Romantic". Como sabéis muchos, Kryolan es una marca de maquillaje profesional. Me encanta porque tiene productos muy buenos a unos precios asequibles. El problema suele estar en la falta de expositores en muchas tiendas de gremio. Cuando lo vi la primera vez pensé que era una sombra, pero la vendedora me dijo que se podía usar como sombra y colorete.

#Beauty_and_language. The Balm: Meet Matt(e) Nude.

Vengo a contaros cosas, quizás no tan frecuentemente como antes, pero sí con toda la ilusión del mundo.

Hace unos días, en Twitter (@emeconeme) hablaba con Esther (@gamusina75) sobre cómo las empresas utilizan el lenguaje a su antojo, dado lugar a dobles sentidos, connotaciones machistas, sexuales, etc. Otra cosa es que nos fijemos, ¿verdad? o que entendamos lo que nos dicen en un idioma que no es el nuestro.

En cuanto al mundo blogger, pues son muchos los que observan el lenguaje y lo comentan, otros se quedan en lo anecdótico y una gran mayoría lo obvia.

Con el hashtag #Beauty_and_language (belleza e idioma) inauguro una nueva temática, donde hay para muchas tesis doctorales y opiniones, os lo garantizo, también espero que aprendáis mucho y que os sirva de reflexión o para echar un buen rato y unas risas.

Nuestra primera entrada de hoy va a tratar sobre el nuevo lanzamiento de The Balm (en español "el bálsamo" -nunca entendí bien por qué ese nombre), la paleta Meet Matt(e) Nude.

Cargo Blush in Catalina.

Me encanta esta marca, así que cuando me enteré de que Sephora en España ya no va a venderla más, me disgusté. Había oído tantas cosas sobre las maravillas de los coloretes de Cargo que no me podía creer que aún no tuviera uno.

I love this brand so when I learnt that Sephora in Spain is no longer selling it I got upset. I had heard so much about the wonders of the blushes from Cargo that I could not believe I didn't have one yet.

En una de mis visitas a Sephora vi una buena cantidad de productos con descuento ("Precios Locos"). Sólo tengo un color así, uno de KIKO, pero la textura es talcosa y el color tira más a coral, siendo todavía rosa.

In one of my visits to Sephora I saw a nice stock of products with discounted price (they call it here "Precios Locos" not sure how it's called worldwide). I only have one colour like this, one by KIKO, but the texture is chalky and the colour leans more towards coral, yet pink.

La textura es increíble, sedosa y suave. Se difumina bien en la piel y deja un efecto natural en pieles claras, adecuado para cualquier época del año.

The texture is amazing, silky and smooth. It blends well on the skin and leaves a natural effect to fair skins, suitable for any time of the year.

Discos desmaquillantes/ Makeup Remover Pads (low-cost)

Hoy os traigo un pequeño descubrimiento. Veréis hace unas semanas compré discos desmaquillantes de algodón en  supermercados DIA %. Me gustaron mucho. Tienen dos caras, una sencilla y otra más rugosa, con una forma que arrastra muy bien el maquillaje y la suciedad. Además tienen como una falsa costura en el filo que impide que se deshilachen.

Lo curioso es que tras ver un vídeo de Aishawari reseñando los de Carrefour, me pareció que eran idénticos. En una visita a este supermercado recientemente, compré estos últimos. 

Pues cuál es mi sorpresa al ver que son MUY DIFERENTES. No tanto de precio (viene a rondar 1€ y algo y traen 120 unidades) sino por su calidad.

Today I'd like to show you a little discovery. A few weeks ago I bought some makeup remover pads in DIA % supermarkets. I liked them very much. They have two sides, a plain and a bumpy one with a carving that takes makeup off easily. Besides they have a false seam on the rim that prevents them from fraying.

The thing is, after watching a video of Aishawari reviewing the ones from Carrefour, it seemed to me that they were identical. In a visit to this supermarket I bought a pack of these.

Surprisingly, they are REALLY UNLIKE. Not because of their price (about 1€ for 120 units) but because of their quality.

Blueberry Lavender Mojito Look for La Pinturera's Contest.

Conocí a Gadirroja del blog LA PINTURERA hace como un año a través de este medio y me parece una mujer estupenda. Trabajadora, madre, esposa y una blogger la mar de apañada. Tiene unas entradas muy bien hechas, con un gracejo que te mantiene pegada a la pantalla todo el tiempo. A mí me tiene desde bien temprano leyendo de cabo a rabo sus entradas, aprendiendo mucho, pero sobre todo, esbozando sonrisas y modelando carcajadas desde detrás de mi pantalla de ordenador.

I "virtually" met Gadirroja from LA PINTURERA about a year or so by means of Blogspot and oh, my, she is an amazing woman. Professional, mother, wife and a great blogger. Her posts are so good and witty that you can't stop reading them. She has me in front of the screen, learning a lot, smiling and laughing from early in the morning. I can't get off my computer!

Haul Abbamart I: Bubinga Brushes.

Cuando oí hablar la primera vez sobre Abbamart me pudo el entusiasmo. Brochas low cost con una calidad relativamente buena era algo a lo que no pensaba renunciar. Mi colección de brochas era escasa en aquel momento y necesitaba algunas brochas nuevas y básicas para mi rutina de maquillaje diario.

When I first heard of Abbamart I was excited. Low cost brushes with a decent quality was something I was determined not to give up. My brush collection was scarce at that time and I needed some new, very basic ones for my makeup.


Entonces llegaron las rebajas del Black Friday ("Viernes Negro" o viernes después de Acción de Gracias) y con ellas los gastos de envío gratuitos y precios con unos descuentos interesantes (hasta un 40% menos en algunos artículos) Así que finalmente hice mi pedido.

So the Black Friday sales arrived and with free international shipping and discount prices (up to 40% off some items) I finally placed the order.

Ésta es la primera parte de dos reviews con las brochas que compré en Abbamart.
Por favor, recordad que las fotos han sido hechas hoy mismo (como ocho meses después de haber adquirido las brochas). Todas lavan genial y no he notado que pierdan pelo en absoluto. Esta gama de brochas es robusta, fácil de manejar y tienen una relación calidad-precio bastante alta.
Todas las brochas están hechas en madera de bubinga y pelo natural.

This is the first part of two post with the brushes I purchased from Abbamart.
Please bear in mind that the pictures have been taken today (eight months after been purchased). All of them wash really well and I haven't noticed any shedding at all. This range of brushes is sturdy, easy to hold and keep and good value for money.
All these brushes are made of bubinga wood and squirrel and natural hair.

MUA o Makeup Academy es una firma inglesa de maquillaje que promete inundarnos de color y calidad a bajo precio.
Aunque inicialmente venden en droguerías de Reino Unido, desde hace un tiempo, vienen ocupando los corazones de ingleses y adictos al maquillaje de todas partes del mundo, gracias a su tienda online.

MUA or Makeup Academy is an English makeup firm which is determined to flood us with colour and quality at low cost.
Although initially this brand retails in drugstores from UK, it has won over both English and people from all he world, thanks to their online shop.

Conozco esta firma gracias a dos gurús excepcionales: Wayne Goss (Gossmakeupartist) y Karina (BeautifulYouTV). Que hace ya tiempo hicieron sendas reseñas en sus canales. Y por los swatches y reviews de dos bloggers españolas: Gadirroja y MissPotingues.

En un principo, estuve averiguando si la calidad de las sombras mono era igual a la de las paletas. Le pregunté a Karina y no supo qué decirme, ya que ella no tenía ninguna paleta en su colección.

At first, I was trying to figure out if the single eyeshadows were the same quality as the palettes. I ased Karina, but she couldn't tell me, as she had no pallete in her collection yet.
Y la cosa se quedó ahí.

Luego, mi amiga Mar (La botica de Mar) me regaló una paleta vacía para sombras de esas dimensiones y no me lo pensé dos veces.

Not long ago, my friend Mar (La botica de Mar) gave me an empty pallete of the same size as these eyeshadows and I didn't think twice.

Hice un pedido a Maquillalia (os aconsejaría que hicierais cálculos con los precios de los pedidos en ambas webs, para ver cuál os interesa más) y me decanté por un total de 9 sombras: 8 de brillo y una mate.

Una sombra que MAC define como "azul pavo real (matte)". Un azul oscuro, intenso, misterioso. Se vino a casa conmigo.

An e/s MAC defines as "dusty peacock (matte)". An intense, dark, mysterious kind of blue. It came home with me.

Sin embargo no sabía por dónde empezar y le pedí ayuda a Sarai Alma. Tenía en mente un ahumado y ella propuso este tutorial.
However, I did not know where to start and I asked Sarai Alma for some help. I had a smokey eyes look in mind  and she proposed this tutorial.

UBU Blender Baby

Tenía muchas ganas de hacer esta entrada, de hacerla y de compartir con vosotros mi experiencia con la esponja UBU Blender Baby.
I really felt like doing this post, both doing it and sharing my experience on the makeup sponge UBU Blender Baby.

Compré la UBU Blender Baby en época de cambios. Estaba recién comprada mi Face and Body de MUFE y como sabéis, es tan fluida, que a veces no sabes con qué aplicarla.
Dudaba si hacerme con la famosa F80 de Sigma, pero vi esta esponja y me resultó muy atractiva y práctica.
I purchased UBU Blender Baby in a time of change. I had just bought my MUFE Face and Body, and as you all know, it is so runny, that you don't know what to use to apply it.
I considered to get the well-known Sigma F80, but then I found this sponge and it seemed pretty appealing and useful to me.

Y mientras me decidía, ya se sabe, "entre col y col...".
And in the meantime, while I made up my mind, you know..."variety is the spice of life".

Lo que hoy os presento, es un look inspirado en un tutorial de las hermanas Pixiwoo.

What I would like to show you today is an inspired look on a tutorial by Pixiwoo.

No creo que haga mucha falta presentarlas. Famosas gurús y makeup artists inglesas de YouTube que han conquistado al mundo con sus impresionantes maquillajes y simpatía.

There is no need for introductions. Well-known gurus and British makeup artists and Youtubers who have taken over the whole world with their outstanding makeup looks and lovely personalities.

Y además son guapas, o tienen esa telegenia natural que te mantiene pegada a la pantalla del ordenador.

Besides, they are pretty, or at least they have that natural pose or telegenia that prevents you from getting off the computer screen.

De este look me llamó la atención el aspecto "mojado" que tienen la sombra en crema y el pigmento que usa. Recordé que tenía un jumbo de un color muy parecido y me animé.

I was drawn to the wet effect of the pigment and cream eyeshadow she uses. I remembered I had a jumbo with a similar effect to it and I did it.

No tengo la misma forma de ojos que Nic, ni un párpado tan grande, así que lo adapté "a mi manera" y a la forma de mi ojo. Quizás rescaté ese arco tan marcado que tiene Charlize en la foto, y que Nic difumina más.

I do not have the same eye shape as Nic, nor such a wide eyelid, so I made it "my way" adapting it to the shape of my eyes. Maybe I tried to do the marked arch Charlize is wearing in the pic and Nic blends out more.

Mac Studio Moisture Cream & Matchmaster Foundation.

Lo sé, habiendo mil productos para la piel seca, me tuve que topar con M.A.C.

Todo empieza un día tal cual, un día tonto, donde me paso por un stand de la marca para que me probaran una base de maquillaje. He pasado por un invierno catastrófico en cuanto a sequedad y descamación y buscar una base que no me resecara más era mi prioridad.

Tenía ganas de probar la Matchmaster, con eso de que es "la maestra en compatibilidad" y que, además de sequedad, tengo la piel muy clara.

La dependienta rápidamente observó la situación en la que se encontraba mi piel y me probó la nueva hidratante en gel de M.A.C para el día "Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel" (y sí, para leerlo hay que hacerse un máster...), luego aplicó la prebase de M.A.C y la Matchmaster.

De la Matchmaster tengo que decir que me puso la 1.0, la más clara de todas. Aparentemente es la mía, porque la siguiente 1.5 tenía la particular habilidad de ponerse naranja y demasiado oscura.

It all started a given day, a bad brain one, where I stop by a stand of the brand to try a foundation.
I have been through a hell of a winter in terms of flake and dry skin and one of my priorities was to find a good foundation.

I wanted to try Matchmater foundation, as it was a "perfect match" and my skin is both dry and fair.

The seller realized how my skin was and applied the new "Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel", then, the primer and Matchmaster foundation.


As regard as Matchmater I must say she applied 1.0, the lightest of them all. Apparently it was supposed to be my colour match, because the next one, 1.5 has the "ability" to turn orange and a tad dark.

"M.A.C y sus bases que tiran a naranja, no lo entenderé nunca"...

"M.A.C and their orange-ish prone foundations, who knows!"

Fue aplicármela y ya me noté como 2 tonos por debajo de mi color normal (NW15), la base se fue oxidando, pero se quedaba demasiado blanca para mi gusto.

Once she applied it I realized it was about 2 tones below my natural skin tone (NW15), it oxidized a little, but it turned out to be too "ghostly" for my taste.

UBU Wicked Winks.

Hace unas semanas aprendí algo que desconocía hasta la fecha: la duración de los rizadores de pestañas puede ser de aproximadamente un año (según el uso).
A few weeks ago I learnt something new so far: the duration of lash curlers is about a year (depending on the use).

Sin dilación, pero con el ceño fruncido, me fui al tocador a comprobar el mio. Ahí estaban los surcos en las gomas.
Without further delay, but frowning, I reached my dressing table to check mine. There they were, the lines on the rubber bands.

"Esto no puede ser bueno, me va a dejar el pelo doblado, o mucho peor, roto"
"This can't be good, it is going to bend my lashes, or even worse, broken"

Pero si la duración de un rizador es de más o menos un año, ¿merece la pena gastarse mucho dinero en uno?.

However, if the duration of a lash curler is about a year, is it worth the trouble to spend much money on one?

Tenía entre ojos (o entre pestañas) el rizador de Shu Uemura, cosas de bloggers, hasta que María de Makeupzone enseñó en su post "Rizadores de pestañas" el de Kevin Aucoin.

I had set my sight (or lashes) on Shu Uemura eyelash curler, bloggers' stuff, until Maria of Makeupzone showed the Kevin Aucoin one in her post "Rizadores de pestañas" (Eyelash Curlers).

"Este Kevin de mis entretelas, que siempre tiene que aparecer con los iluminadores y correctores, rompiendo moldes. ¿Ahora qué va a ser?¿Un rizador de pestañas?".

"This guy again, showing up with highlighters and concealers, breaking all the molds. What's next? An eyelash curler?"

Y entre el mío y el suyo, el gran abismo: el último tiene la goma redondeada.
And between hers and mine, the big blue sea: the latter has a rounded rubber band.

Decidido, no quería más gomas planas, más formas en "l".

I had made up my mind, no more flat rubber bands, more "l" shapes.

Encontré este rizador de pestañas por un precio tan ridículo, que dejar de probarlo era un sinsentido.
I found this eyelash curler for such an inexpensive price that letting it go would be wrong.

Limpiar las brochas de maquillaje/ How to Clean Makeup Brushes

...O así las limpio yo. /...Or at least, that is how I clean them.

Tuve una infección en la piel y por prescripción médica, tuve que tener mucho cuidado con las manos y las uñas.
I had a skin infection and on doctor's orders, I had to be very careful with my hands and nails.

Así fue cómo conocí Desinclor (Clorhexidina Digluconato), del Grupo AGB, un jabón desinfectante indicado para la desinfección de la piel y zonas de punción.
That is how I met Desinclor (Clorhexidina Digluconato), by Grupo AGB, a disinfectant gel recommended for the disinfection of the skin and pucture areas.

Normalmente los métodos clásicos para limpiar las brochas son: /Normally, the regular methods to clean the brushes are:

• Productos específicos (limpiadores de brochas tipo MAC Brush Cleanser). Specific Products (brush cleansers like MAC's).
• Jabones líquidos neutros. Mild gels.
• Alcohol al 96%. Rubbing alcohol.

Nunca Más/ Never Ever: Multiple NARS Orgasm

Llevo un tiempo planteándome si hacer esta entrada o no (como dice mi madre "Tú hija, haciendo amigos"). El producto sobre el cual trata este post es el Múltiple de NARS Orgasm.
I have been thinking over for a while if I should do this post or not (as my mom says "Making friends, uh?"). The product this post deals with is NARS Multiple in Orgasm.

Como todo sabemos es un producto que se lleva la palma a la hora de las cientas de revisiones (99% positivas) en blogs y webs de todo tipo.
Debo confesar que a mi me llegó esa ola de entusiasmo, y me dejé llevar. En un viaje a Madrid no hace mucho, insistí en mi búsqueda personal del ansiado tesoro.

As we all know it is a product that takes the biscuit about the thousand reviews (99% positive) in blogs and webs of all sorts.
I must confess that this hipe-fever got me, and I got myself carried away by it. In a travel to Madrid, not long ago, I insisted in my personal quest for this precious treasure.

Maquillarse con presbicia (vista cansada)/ Makeup and Presbyopia.

Nunca me había parado a  pensar en los problemas que puede tener alguien con presbicia (vista cansada). Firmar un documento o meter el pin en un cajero, ya pueden ser un inconveniente, pero maquillarse puede llegar a convertirse en todo un desafío.
I had never stopped to think about the problems you may have with presbyopia. Signing a document or even inserting the pin in an ATM, may be a drwaback, but making yourself up can become a real challenge.

Mi madre no suele maquillarse demasiado, un poco de máscara de pestañas y algo de colorete. En algunas ocasiones, incluso algún smokey eyes con tonos marrones.
My mother does not make herself up very often, some mascara and blush. Occasionally, even some smokey eyes with neutral colours.

Verla maquillarse es acabar de los nervios. Suele ponerse las gafas apoyadas a la mitad del tabique nasal y mirar  fijamente, escudriñando a través de los cristales, con la barbilla levantada, de cuando en cuando, entre pinceladas.
Watching her making up is going nuts. She wears her glasses on the middle of her nose, peering through the glasses with her chin up from time to time, between strokes.

"Me maquillo sin ver nada, ¿cómo estoy?" me dice cuando me ve pasar atareada, de arriba a abajo.
"I can hardly see when I'm making myself up, how do I look?" she says to me when I pass by busy, up and down the corridor.

"Bien, mamá, ¿y el espejo?" digo apuntando al espejo de aumento de IKEA.
"You look good mom, what about the mirror?" I say pointing at the magnifying mirror by IKEA.

El espejo se le ha quedado corto, "espejito, espejito"!!!
The mirror is insufficient now, "mirror, mirror"!!!

Hace unos meses le regalaron unas gafas. Pensando que eran de Carnaval, intentó ponérselas- "no tita, son unas gafas para maquillarse"- le dijo mi prima.
Some months ago she was given a pair of glasses. Thinking they were meant for Carnival, she tried to wear them- "they are not, auntie, these are for makeup"- my cousin said.

Me resultaron tan curiosas que me inspiraron para hacer este post.
