Qué colores realzan tus ojos/ What Colours Enhance your Eyes.

Uno de los grandes misterios de la cosmética, para mí, ha sido siempre saber elegir los looks, productos y colores que más me favorecen.
A lo largo de los años, y después de haber comprado cientos de productos y haber consultado a maquilladores, parecía que no se ponían de acuerdo en cuanto a los colores que favorecen a determinados ojos.

Sin embargo, hace poco, he conocido el "Gran Secreto", y curiosamente, cuando algo es "grande", es también inesperado.
¿Quién me iba a decir que la respuesta estaba más cerca de la clase de dibujo del instituto que del stand de MAC?

One of the greatest mysteries of cosmetics, to me, has been knowing how to choose the looks, products and the color that suited me most.
With the passing of time, and after purchasing hundreds of products and consulting makeup artists, it seemed that they couldn’t agree for the colours that suit certain kinds of eyes.

However, not too long ago, I have known the “Great Secret”, and curiously, when something is great, it is also unexpected.
How would I ever know that the answer was closer to the Drawing class of secondary school than to MAC’s stand?

Los colores que hacen resaltar los ojos son los complementarios, es decir, aquellos que están en la rueda de los colores, opuestos al color de nuestros ojos.

The colours that make the eyes pop are the complementaries, that is, those which are opposite to our eye color in the color wheel.




Esto no quiere decir que el color de ojos a elegir sólo pueda ser el opuesto justo. Maticemos algunos aspectos:

• El color de sombras no debe ir acorde con la ropa.


• Ha de tenerse en cuenta el color de piel (colores de piel fríos, o más amarillentos o cálidos, más rosas).


• No todos los ojos son iguales, de hecho, tenemos máculas en los ojos que nos hacen únicos.


• La elección y el estilo personal es respetable, también la ocasión.

This does not mean that the color to pick just has to be the opposite only. Let’s clarify some aspects:

• The colour of the shadows should not match your clothes’.


• You must take into account the skin colour (neutral or yellowish, warm or pinky).


• Not all the eyes are the same; in fact we all have freckles in our eyes that make them unique.


• The choice and personal style are important, as well as the occasion.

OJOS CASTAÑOS/BROWN EYES

Complementario/Complementary: Verdes y azules. Green, blue.
Va bien con/Great with: Tonos tierra, melocotón,  dorados, negros, grises, ciruela/ Taupe, peachy, golden, charcoal, grey and plums.
Perfilador/Eyeliner: Ciruela (acentúa las pecas verdosas), negro, gris, azul oscuro, verde. Plum (enhances the greenish freckles), black, grey, navy blue and green.
Rimel/Mascara: Negro, marrón y azul oscuro. Brown, navy blue and black.

OJOS VERDES/HAZEL EYES



Complementario/Complementary: Morados y rosas. Purples and pinks.
Va bien con/Great with: Grises, morados suaves, marrones tierra y dorados. Greys, soft purples and peaches, taupes , warm browns, golden.
La combinación con verde no va mal (sólo en tonos de piel cálidos), pero no es la más favorecedora. Combining them with green is not bad (only in warm skin tones) but it is not the most complimentary.
Perfilador/Eyeliner: Ciruela, tierra, marrones rojizos y algunos morados. Plum, taupe, soft red-brown and some purples.
Rimel/Mascara: Marrón o negro claro. Brown or brownish black.

OJOS AZULES/BLUE EYES



Complementario/Complementary: Marrón o rosa. Brown or pink.

Va bien con/Great with: Grises, negros, azul oscuro, rosas, melocotones. Grey, black, navy blue, pinks, peachy colours.
Perfilador/Eyeliner: Marrones, grises oscuros, negro. Browns, dark greys, black.
Rimel/Mascara: Marrón y negra. Brown and black.

OJOS NEGROS O MARRONES OSCUROS/BLACK OR DARK BROWN EYES



Complementario/Complementary: azules. Blues.
Va bien con/Great with: Azules oscuros, ciruelas y marrones oscuros. Navy, plums, charcoal browns.
Perfilador/ Eyeliner: Negro, azul oscuro, ciruela y gris oscuro. Dark black , navy blue, plum, charcoal gray.
Rimel/Mascara: Negro oscuro y gris grafito. Dark black and charcoal grey.
