Un experimento curioso/ An Odd Experiment.

Lo de hoy es un breve post, nada de retóricas ni sandeces. Información pura y dura, un ejercicio de "a ver qué he hecho, Virgencita de mi vida" y "esto, ¿qué 'eh' lo que 'eh'?".Como ya os conté hace un par de meses, hice un haul (compra masiva) de sombras MUA que os reseñé (haced click en la imagen)

Today's post is brief, nothing like rhetorics or nonsense. This harsh information, an exercise of "what the heck" and "what on earth have I done?".

Soy muy enemiga del tema "depotar" (extraer un recambio de una caja o paleta) por motivos obvios: peligro de quemarte, gasto energético extra, desperdicio para el medio ambiente, riesgo de romper el producto, etc.

Bien, pues en un acto de "depotado" rompí sin querer una sombra. No es que fuera de mis favoritas, pero basta que te guste un color un poco más de la cuenta y de que no tengas ese producto entre tus filas, para que le tengas un afecto especial. En pocas palabras, era lo que me pasaba con la sombra de MUA #18.
Se rompió faltándole un buen trozo de producto por una esquina y en caliente, con la sombra recién sacada de la plancha, aplasté el producto y se arregló algo. El caso es que cada vez que abría la paleta tenía manchas de sombra morada por todas partes.

Viendo un vídeo de YouTube, el típico "Cómo arreglar una sombra rota" (señalemos el pecado, no el pecador) me animé a descuartizarla del todo y prensarla de nuevo.

I am not a big fan of "depotting" for obvious reasons: you can burn yourself, it is an energetic waste (not convenient for the environment), you can break the product, etc.

So in the process of depotting I broke an eyeshadow accidentally. Not among my faves, but the typical case when you like a shadow a little bit more than others (a unique product in your stash, also). In other words MUA in #18.
It broke leaving a big crack on one of the edges and still hot I pressed the product with my fingers trying to fix it. It did in a certain way although everytime I opened my palette I had tiny bits of purple colour all around.

Watching a YouTube video, the typical "How to mend a broken eyeshadow" (not naming names) I ended up shattering it and pressing it back into the pan.

Conocí a Gadirroja del blog LA PINTURERA hace como un año a través de este medio y me parece una mujer estupenda. Trabajadora, madre, esposa y una blogger la mar de apañada. I "virtually" met Gadirroja from LA PINTURERA about a year or so by means of Blogspot and oh, my, she is an amazing woman. Professional, mother, wife and a great blogger. Her posts are so good and witty that you can't stop reading them. She has me in front of the screen, learning a lot, smiling and laughing from early in the morning. I can't get off my computer!

MUA (Makeup Academy) Single Eyeshadows Swatches

Aunque inicialmente venden en droguerías de Reino Unido, desde hace un tiempo, vienen ocupando los corazones de ingleses y adictos al maquillaje de todas partes del mundo, gracias a su tienda online.

Although initially this brand retails in drugstores from UK, it has won over both English and people from all he world, thanks to their online shop.

Conozco esta firma gracias a dos gurús excepcionales: Wayne Goss (Gossmakeupartist) y Karina (BeautifulYouTV). Que hace ya tiempo hicieron sendas reseñas en sus canales. Y por los swatches y reviews de dos bloggers españolas: Gadirroja y MissPotingues.

I got to know this brand thanks to two exceptional gurus: Wayne Goss (Gossmakeupartist) and Karina (BeautifulYouTV). They have reviewed these products long time ago in their YouTube channels.

En un principo, estuve averiguando si la calidad de las sombras mono era igual a la de las paletas. Le pregunté a Karina y no supo qué decirme, ya que ella no tenía ninguna paleta en su colección.

At first, I was trying to figure out if the single eyeshadows were the same quality as the palettes. I ased Karina, but she couldn't tell me, as she had no pallete in her collection yet.
Y la cosa se quedó ahí.

Luego, mi amiga Mar (La botica de Mar) me regaló una paleta vacía para sombras de esas dimensiones y no me lo pensé dos veces.

Not long ago, my friend Mar (La botica de Mar) gave me an empty pallete of the same size as these eyeshadows and I didn't think twice.

Hice un pedido a Maquillalia (os aconsejaría que hicierais cálculos con los precios de los pedidos en ambas webs, para ver cuál os interesa más) y me decanté por un total de 9 sombras: 8 de brillo y una mate.

I placed an order to Maquillalia (you may want to work out the subtotal in both webs to see which one is best for you) and I settled on a total of 9 eyeshadows: 8 pearl and one matte.
