La verdad es que me encanta al maquillaje y el mundo de la belleza en general y me animé a comprar este producto por tres motivos.
El primero es mi casi devoción (que me perdone el Sr de MAC) por los productos de Too Faced.
I wanted to make a review on this product. I had read very good criticisms and opinions on Internet. The truth is I love makeup and the area of beauty in general and I finally bought this product for three reasons.
First, my almost devotion for Too Faced Cosmetics (with permission from Mr MAC).
Segundo, desde hace un tiempo, aunque nunca he tenido problema con la duración y calidad de mis sombras, sí que es verdad que noto que con el paso de las horas se me acumulan las sombras justo en el pliegue del párpado móvil, cosa bastante antiestética.
Tercero, quería algún producto de base con el que poder trabajar pigmentos, etc. Me convenció bastante la opinión de algunas gurús en Youtube, que aseguraban además que la calidad de las sombras mejoraba bastante.
Second, for a while, though I've never had any problems with the duration and quality of my eyeshadows, I've noticed that with the passing of time they tended to crease on my eyelids which is very unsightly, by the way.
Third, I wanted some primer with which I could use pigments, etc. I was quite persuaded by some YT guru's, who also assured that the quality of the shadows was remarkably enhanced.
Por estos motivos, estuve mirando en la web de Too Faced y ví el kit Shadow Insurance Policy. Es un kit compuesto del Shadow Insurance en su formato habitual y un librito-paleta con seis sombras de ojos.Como mi intención principal era hacerme con el SI solo, pensé que iba a investigar sobre el kit con paleta también.
Efectivamante, tanto el SI de la paleta como el del kit Policy, son exáctamente iguales, en formato y cantidad.
El SI sólo cuesta en Sephora 17€, mientras que el kit SI Policy cuesta 32, sí, por un poco más te haces con SEIS sombras...
For these reasons, I was browsing Too Faced website and I saw the Shadow Insurance Policy kit. The kit is made up of the Shadow Insurance in its habitual packaging and a book-shaped palette with six differents eyeshadows.
As my main goal was to get the SI alone, I thought I should get to know more about the palette kit too.
To my surprise, the SI in the kit was exactly the same as the SI alone in quantity and packaging.
The SI alone cost €17 in Sephora, whereas the SI Policy kit was €32, yes, for a little more you can get SIX eyeshadows too.
Nunca he sido mucho de paletas, por el hecho de que siempre hay algún color que no usas, no rentabilizas, etc, PERO...estoy empezando a cambiar de opinión.
Cuando la chica de la tienda me muestra la calidad de las sombras (yo ya tenía una sombra duo, "Lucky Charms", MARAVILLOSA) me comenta, que los colores de la paleta son uno de los que vienen en cada duo, no hizo falta que insistiera mucho, ya lo tenía decidido, me llevaba el kit completo!!!
I have never been a big fan of palettes, as there is always a colour you don't use, you waste, etc, BUT...I am starting to change my mind.
When the shop assistant proves me the quality of the shadows (I already had a duo eyeshadow, "Lucky Charms", AWESOME) she comments that the colours in the palette are one of each duo, she did not have to insist much, I had made up my mind, I would have the whole kit!!!
CALIDAD DE LAS SOMBRAS/QUALITY OF THE SHADOWS
Bueno, bueno, bueno. Sin ánimo de ofender a las MAC-adictas, las sombras de Too Faced son FANTÁSTICAS. Están muy pigmentadas, son muy finas, muy suaves, se trabajan y extienden de maravilla y qué colores, son ideales. De verdad, de lo mejor. Eso sí, no son mates, son tipo "frost" como algunas de MAC, pero más intensas, casi metálicas!!! Hay gente a la que este tipo de sombras puede que no le guste. Yo las utilizo para diario incluso!!!
Well, well, well. No offense to MAC-addicts intended, Too Faced eyeshadows are AWESOME. They are very pigmented, they are very light and soft, you can apply and blend them out wonderfully and what colours, they are perfect. They are among the best, really. However, they are not matte, they are frosted, like some by MAC, but more intense, almost metallic!!! There may be people who don't like these kind of shadows. I even use them for daily looks!!!
Los colores de las sombras son los siguientes:
Full Frontal: Un marrón intenso, precioso, con ligeros pigmentos bronce, queda genial para ojos ahumados y looks más naturales.
Socialite: Este color me tiene enamorada, es un color cobre, asalmonado, anaranjado, precioso.
Skinny Dip: Un azul intenso muy favorecedor para todo tipo de ojos.
Glamazon: Color práctico y muy ponible, es un color natural, entre beige y marrón café con leche, ideal también para ojos ahumados y looks naturales.
Boy Toy: Un rosa chicle, muy fino y favorecedor
Lucky Charms: Verde hoja intenso, precioso!!!
The colours in the palette are:
Full Frontal: an intense brown, beutiful, with light bronze pigments, it is great for smoky eyes ad natural looks.
Socialite: I am in love with this one, it is a copper colour with salmon and peachy undertones, beautiful.
Skinny Dip: a very intense blue suitable for any kind of eye colour.
Glamazon: a very useful and wearable colour, it is a natural hue between beige and soft brown, perfect for natural looks and smoky eyes.
Boy Toy: bright pink, very elegant and flattering.
Lucky Charms: an intense and pretty leaf green.
CALIDAD DEL SHADOW INSURANCE
Genial, mirad, curándome en salud, empecé utilizando bastante poca cantidad, no quería el efecto patinado. Con algún que otro primer me ha pasado, que como tienen una base gelatinosa, las sombras o maquillajes me han "patinado" creando refilones, etc.
En este caso, recomiendo para cada ojo, la cantidad equivalente en tamaño a la cabeza de un alfiler de esos de bolita.
Se trata de una crema coloreada, que apenas aporta color, con una consistencia suave y fácil de aplicar, crea una fina capa como gelatinosa sobre el ojo, muy agradable.

The cream is coloured but it barely pigments. It has a soft and easy-to-apply consistency, it creates a thin creamy layer which is very nice.
El producto cunde mucho, con lo cual es rentable. Y FUNCIONA, en dos pasos os resumo mi experiencia con él:
-Asegurador de sombras: dejó de aparecer la molesta línea y cúmulo de producto en el pliegue del ojo. Las sombras no se mueven, el perfilador dura más también, es genial. Horas después y "perrerías" incluidas (siestas, duchas con el maquillaje puesto, toqueteos de cara, etc...) y la sombra sigue ahí, igual de bonita e intensa...
-Mejora de calidad de las sombras: efectivamente, en este caso vuelve a funcionar. Mirad, con las sombras del kit, no hace falta mejorar nada, pero he estado probando una paleta de Essence (maquillaje a precio de mercadillo) y la verdad es que las sombras se "agarran" al párpado. A tal punto que no puedo utilizar la paleta de Essence ya que me cae polvillo dentro del ojo y con el Shadow Insurance, nada!!!
Por último, tanto por su tamaño manejable, como por la cánula con la que dosificas el producto son una garantía de comodidad e higiene.
The product goes a long way, so it is very worthwhile. And it WORKS, I am going to summarize my experience with it in two parts:
- As a shadow primer: the horrible creases on my eyelids stopped appearing. The eyeshadows don't move, the eyeliners last longer too, it's wonderful.After some hours being applied and some "hard-duty" tests (naps, showers with makeup on, touching the face very often, etc.) the shadows are still there, just as nice and intense as always.
- Shadow enhancer: obviously in this case it works again. Look, with the shadows from the kit, you don't need to improve almost anything, but I've been trying an Essence palette (lowcost makeup) and the truth is the shadows stick to the skin. I can't even use this lowcost palette alone as the particles fall into my eyes.
Finally, because of its easy-to-use packaging and its cannula to dosify the product are a guarantee of comfort and hygiene.
CÓMO APLICARLO (o cómo lo aplico yo)/ HOW TO APPLY (or how I apply it)
En varios tutoriales he visto, incluso hay un vídeo de la propia marca, con el mismo Jerrod aplicando el Shadow Insurance, en el que indica que las sombras han de colocarse sobre el párpado entre 30 segundos y un minuto, para que haga efecto. Todavía no he hecho la prueba de dejar pasar más tiempo.
Quizás, este es uno de los inconvenientes que le veo a este producto. Evidentemente tienes que tener muy claro antes de aplicarlo sobre el párpado limpio, cómo vas a maquillarte, y lo que es más, tienes que tener los materiales a mano, sombras y brochas, etc.
No es que pasado ese tiempo quede como esté, lo puedes difuminar y trabajar, pero, yo particularmente no me arriesgo...
I have seen in several tutorials,and there's even a vid by Too Faced, starring Jerrod himself in which he applies the SI and warns us that the shadows must be applied in a 30 second-1 minute time after the primer to have a full effect. I have not tried to apply it later yet.
Maybe, this is one of the disadvantages that I notice. Evidently, you must have a clear picture of what look you want before applying anything on your clean lid, besides, you must have all the shadows, brushes, etc. at hand.
Not that after that time it stays just as that, you can blend it out, but I don't take the risk.
Al principio, dudé mucho si aplicar un color de base en crema, yo suelo utilizar el Painterly Paint Pot de MAC, que como sabéis es una sombra crema tan natural, que prácticamente iguala el color del ojo y sirve como base neutra sobre la cual, los colores parecen más vivos y homogéneos, aparte de que corrige rojeces y despigmentaciones del párpado.
Cuando compré el Shadow Insurance pensé "¿dejo de utilizar el Paint Pot?" "¿Si lo aplico encima del Shadow Insurance, restará efectividad al producto?"
El color de la crema SI,es tan neutro y transparente que no corrige ni iguala, con lo cual, usé el Paint Pot sobre el SI.
La sorpresa fue que después de haber aplicado el SI+Paint Pot en todo el párpado, al aplicar las sombras en polvo, seguían adheriéndose igual de bien al párpado!!! No me lo podía creer, el SI extendía sus tentaculitos más allá de mi Paint Pot!!!
At first, I hesitated to apply a base colour cream. I often use a Paint Pot (cream eyeshadow) in colour Painterly, and as you may know it is a so natural cream that it works as a neutral base on which colours are enhanced and look brighter. I also conceals blemishes and redness of the lids.
When I got the SI I thought: "Should I stop using the Paint Pot?" "If I apply it over the SI will it make the primer less effective?"
The colour of the SI is so transparent that it does not conceal any imperfections, so I used the SI and then the Paint Pot.
Surprisingly, after applying the SI+Paint Pot all over the lids, the eyeshadows kept on sticking perfectly well!!!! I could not believe it, the SI extended its tenclacles beyond my Paint Pot!!!
VALORACIÓN GENERAL/OVERALL CONSIDERATIONS
Realmente es un producto que interesa, se nota como sujeta los pigmentos y se ven más intensos y luminosos. El maquillaje dura más, y parece que estás recién maquillada. Para mi opinión, esto es indispensable en el tipo de vida que llevamos ahora, el estrés, el sudor, las calefacciones en la oficina todo el día, etc. Genial para el día a día, donde se nos exige estar impecables, durante muchas horas y donde retocarse es un riesgo! Fantástico también para salir de fiesta, una novia, bodas y eventos!!
Es un producto bastante rentable, también, la cantidad a aplicar es tan poca, que el producto puede durar siglos.
Por otro lado el kit SI Policy compensa muchísimo, las sombras son geniales, os lo prometo y no son colores raros que luego se queden colgados en vuestro tocador, son colores ponibles y de moda. De hecho son algunos, los mismos que las sombras dúo, cada sombra dúo creo recordar, vale 12€, con lo cual, compensa!!
Voy a subir fotos en breve, para que veáis el efecto de las sombras y el colorido.
It is a really worthwhile product, you can see how the pigments fix and they look brighter. You also have a fresh look all day. I consider this is essential for the kind of life we have, stress, sweat, heatings in the office all day, etc. It is fabulous also for the day-to-day, where we are forced to be flawless for many hours and where doing little makeup retouches can be tricky! Awesome too to go out, weddings, events.
It is a product worth the money, the amount needed is so little that a tube can last for ages.
On the other hand, the SI Policy kit is promising, shadows are great and the colours are wearable so they won't be left unused in your boudoir. In fact the colours are the same as the duo shadows (each duo costs about €12)
